AND THE BEASTS SHALL PRAISE HIM

Trapped!

In Memory of the Spider who was taken aboard Sky Lab!

Arabella; little Spider
Going where no Spider has gone before!
Did you ever dream in your
Spider childhood
That up above the
World you'd soar?

That Humans would catch and keep your
Ladyship
Aboard a
soaring silver home
T
hat you would struggle to build you webs
Where no
Spider before had ever roamed?

Your first few webs were tangled messe
But with
  Spider courage your persevered
In time they grew to
Silver Wonders
Like any on the Sapphire Sphere

How many looked and saw your spinning
And realized the significance of that:
That you would build in a
New Environment
Nothing but the same old trap?

Are we as trapped as all you
 Spiders
Caught in minds of strife and sin
That instead of building a
New Tomorro
We'll spin the same old webs again?

BATS

Ebony little fledermaus
With bug tuned ears and sightless eyes
Soaring over church and house
Princess of the darkling skies!

In movies bad you sucked our blood
And lurked in graveyards bad and old
Your teeth were long and cruel and sharp
Your ways were mean, your heart was cold!

Yet God made not you batlings bad
but creatures gentle as a mouse
With joy filled hearts you soar and swoop
Above our sweetly sleeping house.

Like little ghosts you soar and dance
Below silver stars, above the trees
Using wings as ebony nets
With startling and graceful ease!

Laughing dancers of the dark
filling skies with warmth and love!
Not eating us or bleeding us but
Eating those who do suck blood!

When Starships soar through velvet sky
As Galaxies and Planets roll
When Stars get old and resurrect
When Mountains sink and rerise tall

When all of Time weaves infinite web
When flesh of all life reaches high
When Heaven rules with joyous songs
Then still may Batlings bless our Sky!

MOON SNAIL

Moon is a White Snail
Eating the Algae of the Skies
The dark Algae Clouds.

Rejoicing For Penguins

Penguins are not flightless birds!
For their beneath the Sapphire Sea
They wing and glide the Ocean wide
As flying a Bird as a Bird can be

Penguins soar beneath the waves
And dance the waters brave and free
Oh yes! They fly! They swoop! They soar!
As flying a bird as you can see!

Butterfly

Butter fly  Butter fly Pretty little flutter fly
Flitting through the f
lower fields
Feeling fancy free!

Sunlight shimmering on your wings
Darling little dancing thing

Oh what a joyous sight
A
butterfly to see!

CHICKENS

Chickens are such stately birds.
They come in flocks and not in herds.
They do not growl. They do not mew
But the males go
COCKaDOodleDOOOOO!!!!!

They do not dance but how they strut!
They do not sing but how they cluck!
They like
cracked corn and worms and bugs
And other things that we'd call ugh!

So how does all of this I beg
Somehow turn into an
egg?

SPEEDY'S ODYSSEY

Drawers are to keep so many things
No place to keep a Snail!
Traveling all around about
With armor on its shell!

But Speedy will go traveling
From his bowl his eyes do peer
Speedy Speedy where are you?
Speedy! Do you hear!

I took the cover off his bowl
And went out for a talk
I came back and discovered that
He'd gone off on a walk.

I hunted all around my room
But couldn't find my Snail.
I finally found him underneath
A stack of opened mail.

Speedy! Speedy! You bad boy!
Why didn't you stay home?
My room is much too big a place
For little Snails to roam!

Your bowl is deep and big and fine
Its sides are crystal clean
The gravel's nice and colored brigh
The Plants are soft and green.

The Fish are tame...they do not bite
The water's very well
A bowl is but the only place
In which to keep a Snail!

Tigress in Miniature

I met a little Tiger
With a tiny little grrr
And tiny little paddy paws
And tiny little purrrrrr

She stalked my great big shoe strings
Upon my great big shoes
And pounced upon them gleefully
With tiny little mews

She is a bonny
Tiger
With tiny little claws
Attached with simple fastenings
To tiny little paws

I would not trade my
Tiger
For any other one
She's always into mischief
Always having fun!

 KITTEN IN A BAG

Tiger Tiger

In its CAVE!
Glowing glowing great green eyes!
Always Tiger?

Only then
Really
kitten in disguise.

CATS

Cats

 Cats

Cats

CATS!

Dancing merrily on my bed
Prancing proudly on my rib cage
Stepping on my head.

Cats

 Cats

Cats

CATS!

CATS!

Meowing loudly in my ear
Telling me in purry language;
Sun is up breakfast is near

Cats

 Cats

Cats

CATS!

Yowling loudly during the night
Screaming like a tortured banshee
Giving me a fright.
